Ultra high modulus carbon fiber (UHM) is recommended for low stress, high stiffness, applications. UHM offers incredibly high stiffness-to-weight ratio, ultra high modulus carbon fiber plates are an excellent choice if stiffness is critical.
0°/ 90° (balanced)
This is the most common layup for carbon fiber plates, suitable for most applications. Balanced, 0°/90° plates offer excellent strength and stiffness in the axial and transverse directions. Our 0°/90° plates are evenly distributed, unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg, in the 0°, 90° orientation. Cross ply ultra-high modulus carbon fiber plates (UHM) has incredible stiffness at 2.5x stiffer than aluminum (in the 0°/90° direction) at 60% the weight. Ultra-high mod plates have lower strength and is not recommended for high stress applications.
Though our offerings are limited, we can manufacture any thickness from 0.020″, to 0.500″ thick up to 48″x 96″. Ultra-high modulus carbon fiber plates are made to order and will take 2-3 weeks to ship. All custom/build to order parts are non-refundable.
