Standard Modulus Carbon Fiber Plates

Standard modulus carbon fiber (SM) is the most common grade of carbon fiber used for our carbon fiber plates.  SM offers excellent strength and stiffness and is the most economical grade of carbon fiber.

0°/ 90° (balanced)

This is the most common layup for carbon fiber plates, suitable for most applications.  Balanced, 0°/90° plates offer excellent strength and stiffness in the axial and transverse directions. Our 0°/90° plates are evenly distributed, unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg, in the 0°, 90° orientation. Cross ply standard modulus plates offer excellent strength and stiffness as it is 90% the stiffness (in 0°/ 90° directions) of aluminum at 60% the weight and is the most economical grade of carbon fiber.

Quasi-isotropic (0°/90°/+45°/-45°)

Quasi-isotropic plates are designed for loading in multiple directions. This layup is ideal for torsional or off-axis loading. Our quasi plates are evenly distributed, unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg, in the 0°, 90°, +/-45° orientation. Quasi-Isotropic standard modulus plates offer excellent strength and stiffness as it is 66% the stiffness (in 0°/90°/+45°/-45° directions) of aluminum at 60% the weight and is the most economical grade of carbon fiber.
